Moab Part 7, the last of Moab

This is the final blog post covering Moab!  So many beautiful places to see and enjoy and we will come back on a future trip!

Tuesday, August 4th we loaded up the bikes and headed for Dead Horse State Park.  We actually used our mountain bikes as mountain bikes!  The bikes worked really well...so that is what all those gears are for !  This was the first time either of us had done any real mountain biking.  We were one easy and then a medium trail for a total of 8 ½ miles.  We had to walk up some steep spots and walk down a couple of other places, but overall we did well.  The scenery was amazing!  We stopped at all of the designated overlooks and some other places that were not.  It was fun and who knows some day we might even try mountain biking again!

Riding up a slick rock !

We both walked up this one

The next 3 pictures we could see Shafer Trail that we drove earlier in the week

We had our picnic lunch at the visitor center overlooking Dead Horse Point.  We walked out to the Dead Horse Point overlook to see where we had taken the Jeep and also where we had just ridden our bikes.  Then it was back into town to get groceries and get the oil in the Jeep changed.  We enjoyed the City Market in Moab.  It would be the last big grocery store we would see for a while.
